Using antique reproduction decorative hardware for small kitchens
If you are working to redesign a small kitchen about, 150sq feet area in your house, then there are some nice tips you could use to make the space look larger and at the same time add more storage space.
When working with small spaces it is always good to use light colors, to make the room look spacious and airy and adding bright lights to this will enhance this feature. Try not to use large appliances to fill up the kitchen since you are working with very limited space. Using space saving appliances is a better option. Adding a island in your kitchen is both practical and fancy. Practical in the sense that it gives you a table like space and at the same time you will get more storage area at it’s base. Put a nice granite top to give it a fancy look.
Once you have worked the basics out then you are probably looking at the cabinetry. Light colored cabinets with glass doors are a good approach since they make the space look larger than it is. Add an elegant touch to the cabinets by including small but well crafted hardware. Look for special collections from Carol Beachs and also from the Richelieu company. Handblown glass door knobs and stainless steel cabinet pulls are a good way to go.
There is a range of materials to choose from, like translucent cabinet pulls and hardware, gemstone hardware, ceramic or acrylic door knob, handles and stainless steel cabinet pulls. Some of these are fashioned in the form of peach knob, apple knobs etc and yellow tomato knobs or dark leafy pulls to give them a fun look. If you are into the antique look then it might be a good idea to use some antique reproduced glass hardware available in the market. This will not only give the cabinets and the overall decor elegance but also a certain unique style.
